Caterham 620R - Nurburgring - 07:49BTG
A lap of the Nurburgring in a Caterham Seven 620R at the Destination Nurburgring DN16 event in September 2016.
This was the quickest lap I recorded at the event and annoyingly, it was an out lap and so I start off slowly and start to build speed later in the lap. Still, it's a quiet lap, just held up for a few seconds behind a Suzuki Swift. Overall it's a 07:49BTG.

nice smooth drive and i bet it could lap again and again. Some of the Manufacturer fast laps round there now are beyond the limit.

Ratio of your 5th gear is to short and to close to the 4th. Literally you don't use your 4th and you lose topspeed with the 5th. There's more possible than just 7:49...
I wish I could buy one this and import to our damn country :( , I just love Caterhams

Great video and a wonderful car. I'd love to have one but they're insanely expensive in the U.S.

It's not that expensive if you build your own.
Yeah there's loads of kits you can buy, it doesn't even have to be caterham.
do u use, or need to use the clutch for shortshifting either up or down? wide open it shifts without clutch smoothly u or down, eh? thanks
+Doctor Drift No need to use the clutch on the way up the gearbox, but best to use it on the way down. This was my first track outing in this car and is my first sequential - I kept using the clutch because old habits die hard lol!!
I saw 4 guys parking their car on the Nürburgring , it should be prohibited ! Or were you driving so fast ?

Got the Flannel shirt, blue jeans, and runs in the 7's at the ring. That's what a Caterham can do. Crank it up and it might get into the 6 minute club
the nurburgrin is a really fast track most of the time, so you'd need a lot more power to get under 7 minutes in a caterham, and perhaps more aero. basically a donkervoort. but i really want the new 620s!

this is awesome, i need more :-D so much faster than my lap and you are only using like 50%-75% of the car a lot of the time. With only 130hp in my Westfield it felt like ages to go uphill but here it looks like beaming from one to the other corner. Subscribed and hope for other videos in 2016 :-D thanks for sharing this one!

could this car beat the Radical SR round there?
no, a pagani zonda r only beats a radical sr8 by 1 second around the nurburgring. Even though, the radical SR is over 100kg heavier than a caterham 7 series, it's 2.7 litre v8 engine would humiliate the caterham's 2 litre supercharged engine.

Just drove mine home from GB to Portugal.Bilbao to Lagos in 10 hrs...awaiting the speeding tickets!I love it,the only thing I hate is the loud gearbox! Do you know the time per lap you've made on Nürburgring?
+Algarve Knives This lap is 7:55BTG but there's a lot of time left in it. I don't find the gearbox noise a problem at all.

Good, very good lap ! I love the sound of the engine. It 's a good idea to replace the windshield by a deflector : I guess it's much faster in sixth gear ?
